Skipper Rovman Powell was the star with the bat for the Royals, scoring a valuable 59 off 38 balls, which included two fours and five towering sixes. However, apart from Powell’s knock, the Royals’ batting struggled to find momentum against a disciplined Trinbago bowling attack, with Akeal Hosein and others keeping the runs in check.

Chasing 157 for victory, Trinbago Knight Riders chased down the target with just one ball to spare, finishing at 159/8 in 19.5 overs, clinching a narrow 2-wicket victory. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, Trinbago��s middle and lower order showed resilience under pressure. Hosein contributed wi??th a crucial 20 r??uns, supporting the chase.

Hosein’s all-round performance proved decisive for Trinbago. This key run-out ended a threatening 72-run partnership, giving the Falcons a much-needed breakthrough as Athanaze, set o??n 34, was forced to ??depart.

De Kock falls shortly after as rain ends play early

The run-out of Athanaze was just the beginning of the Royals’ troubles, as De Kock fell two overs later for 48, leaving his team at 93/3 in the 12th over. However, the experienced duo of Rovman Powell and David Miller steadied the ship, adding an unbeaten 34 off 17 balls.
