Australia Women cricket team’s opening batter Beth Mooney has reclaimed her numero uno position at the ICC Women’s T20I rankings for batters by overtaking team-mate and skipper Meg Lanning.

The ICC released the latest Women’s rankings on Tuesday and Mooney jumped one place to take over Lanning at the top following her spectacular run in the Commonwealth Games Women’s Cricket Competition 2022.

Mooney finished the 20-over tournament as the leading run-scorer with 179 runs from five innings, including 61 off 41 in the final against India, helping the Aussies win the contest and the Gold Medal.

The major gainer, however, in the rankings is Jemimah Rodrigues, who has jumped seven places to the 10th spot in the batters’ category. With that, Silver medallists India have three players inside the top 10. Apart from Jemimah, openers Smriti Mandhana (fourth) and Shafali Verma (sixth) are the other two stars in the top 10.

Amongst bowlers, England spinner Sophie Ecclestone remains at the No.1 position after five w?ickets for her side in the tournament.

Ecclestone’s team-mate and experienced campaigner Katherine Brunt has advanced one spot to second. Similarly, South Africa veteran Shabnim Ismail (fourth) and Australia quick Megan Schutt (fifth) have both moved one slot each.

When it comes to all-rounders, New Zealand star Sophie Devine has continued her dominance following yet?? another consistent tournament at the Commonwealth Games.

Devi?ne scor??ed the second most runs in the competition (177) and claimed six wickets to help White Ferns clinch a bronze medal.

Australia Women captain Meg Lanning has reclaimed her numero uno position at the ICC Women’s T20I rankings for batters by overtaking her team-mate, Beth Mooney.

The ICC released the latest Women’s rankings on Tuesday and Lanning jumped one place to take over Mooney at the top on the back of her spectacular tri-series against Pakistan and Ireland.

Lanning displayed her class to finish as the leading run scorer with 113 runs from two innings against the Irish side. Her best effort came ??when she smashed 74 from just 49 deliveries to help Australia register victory in the fourth T20I. In that same match, Moon??ey fell for just 9, which proved crucial in the rankings re-shuffle.

New Zealand’s Sophie Devine (third) and the Indian duo of Smriti Mandhana (fourth) and Shafali Verma (fifth) complete the top five T20I batters.

After the 3-0 whitewash against South Africa, England’s Katherine Brunt, who finished as the joint leading wicket-taker in the series with five scalps, went up four spots (to No. 3) in the bowlers’ rankings, just behind her teammates Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn.

Australian left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen rose three spots (to No. 6) in the bowlers’ list, while Ashleigh Gardner advanced three spots to No. 7 in the all-rounders’ category.

Indian opener Shafali Verma has regained her number one spot in the latest T20I Rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday. Shafali has replaced Australian star Beth Mooney to reclaim the numero uno position among batte?rs.

Shafali’s partner-in-crime for the Indian team, Smriti Mandhana, who bagged the ICC Women’s cricketer o??f year award on Monday, dropped a place to fourth.

Sri Lanka star Chamari Athapaththu is the major gainer in the batters rankings. She has advanced six positions to break into the top 10 after a splendid performance in the? Commonwealth Games Qualifiers. In the competition, Athapaththu scored 221 runs at a brilliant average and strike-rate of 55.25 and 185.71 respectively. She is now sitting in eighth place in the rankings.

New Zealand also have two players in the top 10, with Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates managing to retain their fifth and seventh positions respectively. Devine is also comfortably sitting at the top spot amongst the all-rounders in the shortest format. She is followed by England’s Natalie Sciver and India’s Deepti Sharma.

Pakistan’s Nida Dar and Thailand’s Nattaya Boochatham have also climbed two places to the ninth and 10th positions respectively. However, Australian superstar Ellyse Perry has slipped four positions to go out ?of the top 10.

When it comes to the bowler’s rankings, the top three remained unchanged with England’s Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn retaining the first and second spots respectively while the third slot stayed with South Africa’s Shabnim Isnmail. Indian star Deepti advanced one position to replace Australia’s Megan Schutt from the fourth place.

India’s young sensation Shafali Verma has impressed many with her outstanding display of fearless and aggressive batting in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. She is the third leading run-scorer (161) in the tournament after England’s Natalie Sciver (202) and Heather Knight (193).

The 16-year-old has amassed runs with the highest strike-rate ??of 161 in the mega event. Also, Shafali has struck the maximum number of sixes (9) in the competition.
