Former India international Yuvraj Singh, who was a part of team Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada 2019, had crashed in between an interview of Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting by his fiancee Erin Holland (also the female anchor of the tournament). And the fun p??art was that Yuvraj interrupted the two and asked them about their wedding plans?

“Time is running guys, get ready for the wedding,” the 2011 World Cup hero said ahead of the start of the match between Toronto Nationals and Edmonton Royals. The video clip became viral on social media, and no doubt fans loved it. However, none had any idea if? someone will take it seriously too? But one of the fans did.

During the second qualifier of the tournament between Brampton Wolves and Winnipeg Hawks, a fan was seen holding a placard that read, “GT20 Canada Final tomorrow. But when is the wedding guys?” It had pictures of Erin, Ben, and Yuvraj in it.

Erin was in splits and blamed Yuvraj for it.

“Hahaha this one is all your fault @YUVSTRONG12 #whenstheweddingguys @GT20Canada @Cuttsy31,” she wrote in her tweet.

The left-hander found it funny as well.

The second edition of the Global T20 tournament in Canada witnessed a thriller of an end on Sunday, August 11. It was a mouth-watering final, where Win??nipeg Hawks beat Vancouver Knights in a nailbiting Super Over to win their maiden title?.

Chasing 193 for victory, defending champions Vancouver Knights rode on two lethal knocks – skipper Shoaib Malik’s 36-ball 64, and Andre Russell’s 46 not out off 20 balls. The match was tied at the end of 20 overs with the Knights having 4 wickets in hand.

Russe?ll’s heroics went in vain ??as he batted and bowled in the following Super Over, but this did not result in a win for the Vancouver Knights.

In spite of Russell’s magnificent six, the Knig?hts managed only 9 runs in the over, which was chased dow??n easily by the Hawks with a couple of balls to spare.

Chris Lynn of Winnipeg Hawks scored 5 runs while chasing, with Russell c??onceding 4 byes.

“I am just overwhelmed. We were off to a tremendous start. The pitch was getting slower and lower. We should have got to 200, but 192 was par. We were trying to make him wait (Russell) as long as possible. We held our nerves well. (Kaleem) Sana, excellent last over and excellent Super Over.â€?/em>

“(Kaleem) Sana said he wanted, I had no problem. Happy that he put his hand up and delivered. Nobody backed us to win the final, we believed we could do that. The close wins gave us the extra motivation. It’s an excellent tournament, it’ll go from strength to strength,” Winnipeg captain?? Rayad Emrit said at the post-m?atch presentation.

Shaiman Anw?ar was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his brilliant knock of 90 off 45 balls. JP Duminy was honoured with the Player of the Tournament award for being the leading run-scorer. He was clearly the hero for the Hawks with 332 runs from 8 matches at an average of 83, including three half-centuries.

“It was a team effort throughout the season. It was amazing performance from individuals. For me, it’s just about enjoying. It’s important to share experience with the young guys,” Duminy said after the match.

The second season of the Global T20 Canada has reached its climax, but the final phase of the tournament got dramatic when a?? match betwe??en Winnipeg Hawks and Toronto Nationals got exciting a rift in a high-scoring match.

After bad light stopped play in the 18th over, the result was declared throug?h a DLS system. Hawks won the high-scoring thriller by 2 runs to see the?mselves in the Qualifier 2.

However, the match made headlines for the sensational catch taken by Nationals’ star all-rounder Kieron Pollard to dismiss the Hawks’ hard-hitting batsman, Chris Lynn.

Chasing 239 to win, Lynn sm?acked the last ball of the fourth?? over bowled by Chris Green straight in the long-on region. Pollard, who was fielding near the boundary, dived to his left and completed the stunning catch.

Pakistan star all-rounder Shoaib Malik played a quickfire knock of unbeaten 46 off 26 deliveries to help Vancouver Knights qualify for the final of the Global T20 Canad?a 2019.

During his blistering knock, Malik smashed three sixes to excite the Brampton crowd with some big-hitting. However, out of the three sixes, two of?? t??hem went on to break the window glasses in the stands.

Brampton Wolves’ spinner Ish Sodhi was bowling the 13th over of the rain-shortened game, and it was the second delivery of leggie’s over that Malik smacked for a 68-meter six over cover.

The ball landed straight on a glass window, leaving it damaged. Malik did not stop here as his second glass-breaking six came off in compatriot Wahab Riaz’s over.

It was the second last delivery of ??the match, and ??Malik smashed it to backward point for a six. The result of the 67-meter six was the same as it also destroyed a glass at the CAA Centre.

Defe??nding champions, Vancouver Knights, won the match by a whopping margin of 77 runs (DLS method) and will now look to win the tournament by crossing the final hurdle on August 11 (Sunday).
