Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and India captain Virat Kohli are one of the hottest couple??s in B-Town and the world of Cricket. Despite her hectic schedule, Anushka is often seen cheering for Virat in many matches and tournaments.

The romantic star couple attended the function in Delhi, where the Feroz Shah Kotla stad??ium was renamed after former Union Minister Arun Jaitley. In ?the same ceremony, the pavil??ion stand of the stadium was named after Virat Kohli.

At the DDCA event, President Rajat Sharma spoke about an incident when Jaitley visited Kohli’s house after the latter’s father, Prem Kohli’s demise.

That was when the former Finance Minister came to know that in spite of his father’s death, Virat went to play a match. Impressed by the youngster’s mental strength, Jaitley predicted that he would make it big one day.

Naturally, it was a moment for the 30-year-old to get emotional. Anushka consoled? him by kissing his hand.

On Thursday, the Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium was r????enamed after former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who passed away last month. The renaming ceremony took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium’s Weightlifting Auditorium. Jaitley had served as the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) President from 1999 to 2013.

However, the Feroz Shah Kotla ground’s name will stay the same.

In the same function, a new pavilion stand at Delhi’s historic stadium was named after Team India skipper Virat Kohli.

After the stand was virtually unveiled, Kohli gave a heartfelt thanks to the DDCA, his teammates and his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma. While expressing gratitude to his family, the 30-year-old recalled an incident, when he had gone to watch an ??India versus Zimbabwe Test match with his brother at the iconic venue in 2001.

“When I left home today, I told my family one anecdote…I remember getting a ticket to watch a game in 2001 at the stadium and asking for autographs from players… So today to have a pavilion in my name at the same stadium is surreal and a great honour,” the Indian run-machine said.

Earlier before his demise, Arun Jaitley had called Virat Kohli the best batsman in the?? world.

“When I decided to name a stand in honour of Virat Kohli, I told this first to Arun Jaitley ji. He told me this is a good decision because there is no better player than Virat in world cricket,” Rajat Sharma revealed during the event.

India skipper Virat Kohli ran out the Kiwi batsman Henry Nicholls wit?h a brilliant direct hit during the first T20I between ??India and New Zealand at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Wednesday.

In the 15th over of New Zealand’s innings, Nicholls hit the ball towards mid-on and sprinted for a single. Not many batsmen have the courage to steal a quick single while the ball in is Kohli’s stands.

Ashish Nehra ended his 18-year-old career on Wednesday, after playing the 1st T20I against New Zealand at Fero?z Shah Kotla in Delhi.

Nehra made his Test debut in 1999 and played a big hand in Team India reaching the finals of 2003 World Cup and 2011 World Cup. He walked away with a winner’s medal in 2011 World Cup and that was the last ODI he played for a long time.

The 38-year-o?ld pacer got a chance to come back in Team India through T20I matches. He grabbed the opportunity well and had a dream run, even got to have a farewell match at his home ground.

Nicknamed as ‘Nehraji’ by his teammates was paid rich tributes on Twitter by fans and cricket fraternity after Nehra’s farewell match.

Team India captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday dubbed India’s first ever win over New Zealand in T20 Internationals as clinical.

The M??en in Blue outclassed the Blackcaps in the first T20I of the 3 match series to take a 1-0 lead.

While speaking about the lanky pacer Ashish Nehra‘s retirement, Kohli said that he knows how hard Nehra has worked and he (Nehra) deserved this kind of farewell with the crowd cheering for him.

“To have played 19 years is very hard for a fast bowler. I know how professional he’s been and how hard he’s worked. He deserved this kind of a farewell with the crowd cheering him. He can now spend time with his family, he’s got a beautiful family. We’ll stay in touch but we’ll miss him and I wish him all the best,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Kohli was also elated with Team India’s clinical performance at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi which is also his home ground along with Ashish Nehra and Shikhar Dhawan.
