Warriors became the champions of the Fairbreak Global Women’s T20 2023 after defeating Falcons b??y massive 93 runs in the final of the league at the Kowloon Cricket Club.

Asked to bat first, the Warriors started off their innings with a slow pace, losing a couple of wickets early on. However, things quickly turned around when Hayley Matthews stepped up to the crease. She smashed an incredible 123 runs off just 52 balls, including eleven fours and nine sixes, propelling her team to a mammoth total of 230/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Kathryn Bryce also contributed significantly with her 52 runs off just 20 balls. Meanwhile, Anju Gurung was the standout bowler for the Falcons, as she took two wickets a??nd gave away 43 runs in her quota of four overs.

Chasing a mammoth total of 231, Falcons never really got going in their innings. Despite Chamari Atapattu‘s 29 off 17 balls and Theertha Satish‘s 29 off 32 deliveries, they struggled to keep up with the required run rate. As a result, they ultimately finished their innings? with a total of 137/8, falling short by a huge margin of 93 runs. On the other hand, Bryce stood out with her excellent figures of three wickets for just 16 runs in her four overs among Warriors’ bowlers. Matthews also chipped in with two wickets for 14 runs in the three overs that she bowled.

With the win, the Warriors eventually were crowned champions of the Fairbreak Global Women’s T20 2023. Matthews was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for her outstanding innings that set the tone for her team’s victory.

In the 2nd Semi-Final of the Fairbreak Global Women’s T20 2023, Falcons Women defeated Barmy Army Women at the Kowloon Cricket Club to enter the final of the competition. Falcons w?ill now face Warriors in the summit clash.

Barmy Army Women’s innings got off to a poor start as Lauren Winfield and Laura Wolvaardt were dismissed without scoring any runs. However, Deandra Dottin played a crucial innings of 42 runs off 29 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Sana Fatima also contributed with a quickfire knoc??????????????????????????k of 45 runs off 30 balls. Despite their efforts, Barmy Army Women could only manage to reach 1?58/8 in their 20 overs.

In response, Falcons Women got off to a shaky start as Danielle Wyatt was dismissed for just 1 run. However, Chamari Atapattu played a match-winning innings of 78 runs off 50 balls, including eight fours and five sixes. Marizanne Kapp and Mariko Hill also played important innings of 23 runs off 10 balls and 19 r??uns off 11 balls respectively. Falcons Women chased down the target of 159 with ease in the 18th over, winning the match by 6 wickets.

Marizanne Kapp and Mariko Hill were the pick of the bowlers for Falcons Wome??n, taking three wickets each. Sana Fatima was the mos?t successful bowler for Barmy Army Women, taking one wicket for 22 runs in her three overs.

The Fairbreak Global Women’s T20 2023 started with a thrilling encounter between Falcons and Tornadoes at the Kowloon Cricket Club on Monday (April 3). Falcons emerged victorious in the contest a?nd defeated Tornadoes by 41 runs.

Asked to bat first, Falcons started their innings on a shaky note, losing the opener Danielle Wyatt for a duck. However, Theertha Satish played a crucial knock of 57 off just 40 balls to stabilize the innings. Mariko Hill and Nannapat Koncharoenkai chipped in with valuable contributions to help the Falcons reach a respectable total of 150/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Meanwhile, Sune Luus and Winifred Duraisingam grabbed two wickets each for the Tornadoes.

In response, Tornadoes got off to a disastrous start, losing their top two batters for ducks. Luus fought hard and scored a brisk 48, but she did not receive enough support from the other end. Marizanne Kapp and Sornnarin Tippoch bowled brilliantly for the Falcons, picking up three wickets each, while Kaia Arua and Chamari Atapattu grabbed two and one wickets, respectively.

Tornadoes could only manage to score 109/9 in their allotted 20 overs, losing the match by 41 runs. Falcons’ bowlers were on top throughout the innings and did not let the opposition batters settle. Satish was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for her exceptional performance.

While Falcons would be happy to start their campaign with a win, Tornadoes would be disappointed to lose their opening encounter and will eye their maiden win of the season in their next match.??
