Ahead of the clash against Australia in the Boxing Day Test, the Indian team has been spending some time in the nets to fine tune their skills and re-gain some momentum. In one such practice session an Indian cricket fan asked Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to hit a si??x, and the?? 37-year-old replied in a similar sportsperson spirit!

The India??n skipper was batting in the n??ets when an enthusiastic fan raided his net practice session “Rohit Bhai chakka maaro..?/em> was the request from the fan as Rohit played an incoming ball. Just as he ??heard the request, the Indian skipper looked up towards the fan and s??aid, “Who is that? You want six?” Rohi??t?? then took his batting stance once again and went on with the practice session.

An uphill task for the Indian skipper in the Boxing Day Test

Rohit supports youngsters amidst batting-order speculations

The Indian skipper also talked about India’s batting order ahead of the Boxing Day Test match at Melbourne. The Indian batting has been below par and a number of batters have disappointed in the first three Test matches. Talking about the state of Indian batting, Rohit said, “Let’s not worry about that (the batting order). I think ‘who bats where?’ is something that we need to figure out within ourselves. It’s not something I should be discussing at every press conference. Whatever it takes for our team to look good or gives the best chance to succeed, we will do that.”

The Indian batters produced average performances throughout the series. Players like Shubhman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Yashshvi Jaiswal have disappointed the most with the bat. The Indian skipper however, had some other thoughts on these youngsters. Talking about their form, Rohit said, “See, as I told you, all these youngsters – Rishabh, Gill, Jaiswal, all these youngsters are in the same boat. We don’t want to complicate what they are doing. They know what they are expected to do. Our job here is to keep talking to them about small things like match awareness. I don’t think we need to tell them more and complicate stuff.”

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently finely poised as both teams have won a Test match each. The third Test ended in a draw between the two sides. The Boxing Day Test is speculated to be the series decider before the final showdown ?between the two sides at Sydney.

In light of the recent threats issued by US-based Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, security measures have been significantly intensified in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The threat specifically targeted the upcoming fourth Test fixture of the five-match series between India and England s??che??duled to begin on February 23 at the Jharkhand States Cricket Association (JSCA) International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

Threats and appeal to CPI (Maoist)

Pannun conveyed his disruptive intentions through social media channels, not only directing the threat towards the cricket game but also calling on the banned CPI (Maoist) group to interfere w??ith the event. The alarming nature of the threat has prompted authorities to take immediate action and enhance security protocols to ensure the safety of play??ers, officials, and spectators.

Deputy superintendent addresses the press

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hatia, P K Mishra, addres??sed the press to provide insights into the situation. He revealed that Pannun had explicitly threatened both the Indian and England teams, urging the cancellation of the match in Ranchi. Furthermore, Pannun appealed to the CPI (Maoist) group to create disturbances with the same objective. In response to the threat, an FIR has been lodged against Pannun at Dhurwa police station under the IT Act, and an investigation is underway.
