In a match brimming with high-octane action and standout performances, it was Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s sharp presence of mind that delivered one of the most memorable moments of PSL 2025 so far. During Match 5 between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, a 𓆏seem🐲ingly minor misfield turned into a game-defining highlight thanks to Kohler-Cadmore’s alertness and improvisation.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore dismisses Andries Gous with a brilliant run-out
The moment came early in the second innings, with Zalmi chasing a colossal 244. Andries Gous, yet to make an impact, attempted to snatch a third run after a misfield off Sahibzada Farhan’s flick down leg. Saim Ayub collected the relay throw but couldn’t deliver a direct hit. Kohler-Cadmore, stationed smartly at the striker’s end, showed exceptional awareness as he backed up the throw. With a subtle flick of his left hand, he guided the ball onto the stumps. Gous, caught just short of the crease without diving, had to make the long walk back without troubling the scorers.

Sahibzada Farhan leads Islamabad United to a thumping win over Peshawar Zalmi
Earlier in the evening, Islamabad United delivered a batting masterclass after winning the toss. Sahibzada Farhan lit up the Rawalpindi skies with a stunning 106 off just 52 balls, peppering the boundary with 13 fours and 5 sixes. His innings was the heartbeat of United’s massive total of 243/5—one of the highest team totals in PSL history. He was well supported by Colin Munro (40 off 27), Salman Ali Agha (30 off 15), and some late blitzes by Jason Holder and Ben Dwarshuis.
The powerplay set the tone as United racked up 73 runs in the first six overs, losing only Gous to the run-out brilliance of Kohler-Cadmore. Farhan reached his fifty in 26 balls and continued to pile on the runs effortlessly, bringing up his century in just 49 deliveries. The aggressive intent never dropped, and even Peshawar’s frontline bowlers looked out of ideas, with Alzarri Joseph and Hussain Talat taking two wickets apiece but leaki🦹ng runs at alarming rates.
Chasing a daunting 244, Peshawar Zalmi faltered early and never truly recovered. Babar Azam and Ayub were dismissed within the first four overs, triggering a top-order collapse. Only Mohammad Haris showed any resistance, smashing 87 off 47 in a lone-warrior effort. But wickets kept tumbling around him as Imad Wasim (3/26) and Shadab Khan (2/29) spun a web around the Zalmi middle and lower order. Ultimately, Zalmi folded for 141 in 18.2 overs, handing Islamabad United a thumping 102-run win—making a statement of intent ea🅠rly in the tournament.
