In a dominant display at Junction Oval, Melbourne Renegades cruised to a convincing nine-wicket victory over Sydney Thunder in Match 37 of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024. Led by Sophie Molineux’s all-round brilliance, the Renegades chased down the target of 134 with ease.

Sydney Thunder struggles against spin

After electing to bat, Sydney T🥀hunder managed 133 before being bowled out in 19.1 overs. After the dismissal of both the openers, smashed 30 off 17 balls, while Tahlia Wilson contributed a steady 27 off 30 deliveries. Sammy Jo Johnson added a quick 21, but the rest of the batters failed to score.

The Renegades’ bowling attack, spearheaded by , made life difficult for the Thunder batters. She claimed an impressive 4/23 in her four overs, effectively dismantling the middle order. Georgia Wareham and Deandra Dottin provided excellent support with two wickets apiece, while Milly Illingworth and Sarah Coyte♊ chipped in with one wicket each.
