Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah etched his name into the annals of Indian cricket history on Day 2 of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. The 30-year-old achieved a monumental milestone, becoming only the 10th Indian bowler and the sixth pacer from the country to complete 400 wickets across all formats of international cricket. Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud fell victim to Bumrah’s lethal bowling, becoming his 400th victim at the highest level.
Bumrah continued his dominance in home conditions, picking up three wickets in the first two sessions on Friday. He struck in his first over, sending back Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam after rattling the left-hander’s off-stump. He then added two more to his tally, dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmud in the second session.

Jasprit Bumrah, who made his Test debut in 2018, has grown leaps and bounds in red-ball cricket. Bumrah is arguably the best all-format bowler going around in world cricket. Seen as a white-ball specialist after his initial impact in the Indian Premier League, Bumrah has gone on to become India’s premier bowler in Test cricket.
Earlier in the year, Bumrah flaunted his mastery in Indian conditions, picking up 19 wickets in four matches in a Test series against England. His ability to swing the ball both ways, combined withಞ hi💮s accuracy and deceptive pace, has made him a nightmare for batters across all formats.
