Clad in ‘India Champions’ jerseys, the Men in Blue then made their way to 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The players, led by stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid, engaged in an hou🥃r-long interaction with PM Modi.
During this meeting, Modi expressed his congratulations and engaged in light-hearted banter with the players. Head coach Dravid and players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya shared anecdotes and insights from their victorious campaign. Overcoming travel disruptions
Initially scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Team India’s plans were disrupted due to unforeseen challenges posed by Hurricane Beryl in Barbados. The severe weather conditions paralyzed operations at Barbados Airport, rendering it impossible for flights, including the team’s, to either land or take off. As a result, the meeting had to be rescheduled to a later date, prolonging the anticipation of their celebratory return.
Team India’s departure and continued celebrations
Following their heartfelt meeting and breakfast with PM at hi𝔍s residence, the Men in Blue proceeded to Indira Gandhi 𝄹International Airport. From there, they embarked on a flight to Mumbai, marking the next phase of their celebratory journey. To commemorate their historic T20 World Cup triumph, the Men in Blue will partake in an Open Bus Victory Parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
