Introduction of Test Cricket Incentive Scheme
Following the conclusion of the thrilling Test match, Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), made a significant announcement regarding the introduction of a “Test Cricket Incentive Scheme.” The scheme is designed to provide financial incentives to players who prioritize the red-ball format.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Shah expressed his pleasure in initiating the scheme, emphasizing its aim to foster financial growth and stability for the esteemed athletes. The Test Cricke🌊t Incentive Scheme will commence from the 2022-23 season and will serve as an additional reward structure on top of the existing match fee for Test matches, which is currently set at INR 15 lakhs.
