In the aftermath of the ODI World Cup 2023, the cricketing world is now ablaze with anticipation and excitement as it shifts its focus to the upcoming ICC Men’s T20I World Cup in 2024. The eagerly awaited tournament, which will be played in USA and West Indies, promises to be a high-octane spectacle, with teams from across the globe intensifying their preparations for a battle that transcends boundaries. The abbrevia❀ted format of T20 cricket injects an extra dose of thrill into the competition, ensuring that every match becomes a riveting contest where fortunes can change in the bli🗹nk of an eye.

Amid this fervour, former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri, known for his astute observations, has shared his insights on the potential contender for the prestigious tournament. With a career steeped in༒ cricketing wisdom, Shastri has pinpointed the team that he believes could emerge as a s🎉erious force in the forthcoming T20I World Cup.

Ravi Shastri’s prophecy

Shastri predicted that India are poised to be a serious contender in the T20I World Cup 2024. He anticipated the Men in Blue’s success in the shorter format, emphasizing the need to rebuild the side. The former cricketer’s outlook suggests confidence in India’s capabilities in T20 cricket and a strategic focus on excelling in the upcoming T20I World Cup.

“I see India winning a World Cup very soon. It might not be a 50-overs (one) that easily because you have to again rebuild the side, but 20-overs cricket, the very next one India will be very serious challengers because you have got the nucleus, it’s a shorter format of the game. Your focus should be on that,” Shast💙ri was quoted as saying to the reporters at Wankhede Stadium.

Ravi Shastri on India’s ODI World Cup 2023 performance

Shastri shared admiration for the Rohit Sharma-led side’s performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, describing it as fabulous. Despite the team being the strongest on paper, he acknowledged the lingering disappointment of not winning the cup. The stalwart specifically praised the bowling unit for stepping up during the mid-stage of the tournament, creating a sense of optimism about India’s chances.

I think it was fabulous. To be honest, it still hurts from the outside, that we could not win the cup because we were the strongest team. The way the bowling stood up towards the mid stage of the tournament, you thought they had a great, great chance,” the 61-year-old added.
