India locked horns with Afghanistan in the 9th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Wednesday. The Afghan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and elected to bat first.

Chasing a target of 273, the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, provided a flying start to the innings. Captain Rohit’s explosive performance was the highlight of the chase, as he smashed 131 runs off just 84 balls, including 16 fours and 5 sixes. Kishan contributed with 47 runs, while Virat Kohli (55 not out) and Shreyas Iyer (25 not out) played important supporting roles.
