Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza recently represented his country at the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023. The 37-year-old was a big reason why the hosts reac♔hed the Super Sixes stage of the tournament.
He, in fact, shared an emotional post on social media after his꧒ side crashed out of the CWC 2023 Qualifiers. The main ICC event is scheduled to be played in India from 🔯October 5 to November 19.
“Devastated, hurt, broken, shattered, in pain and there are so many words that describes what we #Chevrons are feeling right now. We are sorry that we couldn’t get the job done and made the dream a reality, and I think it’s only natural to feel all those emotions,” Raza captioned his post.
“I am incredibly proud of this team and how far we have come in a year I am so proud of how we wore our heart on the sleeves. I am incredibly proud of our fans for making us believe and giving us so much love & respect I am so proud how far we have come as an organization.”
In the meantime, several reports have emerged that Raza shares a close relationship with Indian Tennis ace Sania Mirza. These reports have been circulating over ꦑthe internet in recent times.
Fact Check: How are Raza and Sania related?
Sania and Raza are not related by blood or family ties, despite both being Muslims. They do not share a common ancestry, tribe or community. Raza’s origins can be traced back to Sialkot, Pakistan, where he was born in 1986. Initially aspiring to become a fighter pilot, Raza’s dreams were dashed when he failed an eye examination. Subsequently, he pursued his studies at Glasgow Caledonian University before eventually relocating to Zimbabwe, where his parents had been residing since 2002. It was in Zimbabwe that Raza developed a passion for cricket, leading to his remarkable journey in the sport.
On the other hand, Sania hails from Hyderabad, India, and has established herself as a legendary figure in the world of tennis. She is widely regarded as India’s most accomplished female tennis player, boasting numerous Grand Slam titles. Mirza garnered significant fame and recognition in India. In 2010, she married Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, a decision that drew mixed reactions from both sides of the border. The couple has been residing in Dubai since their marriage and they have a son named Izhaan Mirza Malik.
In a symbolic sense, Malik’s roots can be traced back to Sialkot, Pakistan, making Sania the daughter-in-law of Sialkot. This connection is the reason why Raza and Sania are linked, but it should be emphasized that they are not related by blood, family, or any direct relationship.
