Talking about the match, DD faced a challenging start after losing the toss and being asked to bat first. The team’s opening batters, Rahul and Shivam Singh, contributed 20 and 21 runs respectively. However, the top order struggled to make a significant impact on the game. Baba Indrajith, Boopathi Kumar and Ashwin could only manage scores of one, seven and one run respectively. It was Adithya Ganesh’s impressive knock that provided stability to the Dragons’ innings. Ganesh’s quickfire 44 runs off 30 balls played a crucial role in helping his team set a competitive total on the scoreboard.
With late cameos from Sarath Kumar and Suboth Bhati, the Dragons reached a respectable total of 170 runs. In their defense of the target, the Dragons’ bowlers put up an impressive performance in restricting the Super Gillies. Narayan Jagadeesan and Baba Aparajith were the staꦦndout performers for CSG, scoring 37 and 74 runs respectively. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to contribute significantly, resulting in Chepauk narrowly missing out on the victory.
Chakravarthy emerged as the star bowler for the Dragons, taking three crucial wickets for just 23 runs. His spell played a pivotal role in securing the Dragons’ narrow one-run victory in the match.
