After Ravichandran Ashwin‘s episode of reviewing the review, the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 once again witnessed a mindboggling incident during the 19th match of the tournament between Salem Spartans (SS) and Lyca Kovai Kings (LKK) on Tuesday (June 27). The match saw an LKK batter getting run-out off a dꦅirect hit, but the dismissal went unnoticed by the fielders and the umpires.
It all happened in the third over of the first innings when LKK batter S Sujay tried to steal a quick single off Abhishek Tanwar‘s delivery at the short cover point and jumped to save himself after reaching the non-striker’s end as the ball was thrown towards him. The ball ultimately crashed into the stumps while he was still in the air, which was a clear run-out according to the rules. However, Sujay was saved with no fielder appealing for the dismissal and not even the umpires taking note of it.

As far as result of the match is concerned, LKK showcased an impressive batting performance after being asked to bat first and posted a challenging target for their opponents. Although Sunny displayed some resistance and scored 29 runs off 19 deliveries, his efforts were not enough to secure a victory for their team. K Gowtham Thamarai Kannan was the star bowler for LKK and bagged three sc❀alps for 20 runs.
