Delhi Capitals (DC) might have been eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, but they ended their campaign by giving the Delhi supporters a joyful moment to celebrate during their last league stage clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (May 20). Although Delhi lost the contest, a fun banter between DC skipper David Warner and CSK star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from the match has been wi🉐nning hearts on the internet.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, CSK got off to a flying start courtesy of sensational batting performances from their opening batters. While Devon Conway played a splendid knock of 87 runs off 52 balls, Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed 79 runs off just 50 deliveries. Apart from the opening duo, Shivam Dube also scored quickfire 22 runs off 9 deliveries for the Chennai-based team. Dube was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja, who played a fie𓂃ry cameo of 20 runs off 7 balls towa🍃rds the end and propelled CSK to a formidable total of 223/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, DC didn’t start well and lost Prithvi Shaw with just five runs on the board. However, despite losing the early wicket, DC captain Warner gave the Delhi crowd a moment to smile. It all happened when the Aussie cricketer imitated Jadeja’s famous sword celebration and left everyone in laughter. The video of the same has gone viral on the internet.
The incident took place in the fifth over when Warner completed a quick single and playfully encouraged Ajinkya Rahane to make another attempt after an unsuccessful throw by Moeen Ali. Although Rahane initiated the throw, Warner safely reached home with the ball reaching Jadeja. The left-handed batter once again jokingly threatened to run, to which Jadeja reacted by aiming at the stumps. The exchange quickly turned into laughter as Warner mimicked Jadeja’s celebration by wielding his bat like a sword. The crowd at Arun Jaitley Stadium thoroughly enjoyed the moment and cheered for both players.

Coming back to the match, despite Warner’s valiant efforts of 86 runs in 58 deliveries, DC failed to find substantial contributions from their other batters and could only manage 146/9 in their allotted 20 overs. On the other hand, Deepak Chahar led CSK’s bowling attack brilliantly, claiming three crucial wickets while conceding only 22 runs in his four overs.
