The emerging star of India and Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Shubman Gill earned himself many praises after he hammered back-to-back centuries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The second consecutive ton for the right-handed⭕ batter came against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last week. Among all the wishes he received, the former Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly also lauded Gill for his sensational knock. However, Ganguly’s message for the 23-year-old didn’t go down well with some of the Virat Kohli fans.
Notably, Virat also scored a brilliant century in the first innings of the same match, but he didn’t find a mention in Ganguly’s post, which made some fans really upset. Although the veteran India cricketer refrained from writing Virat’s name, he did indirectly appreciate the Bangalore batter. But the supporters of RCB failed to get the right meaning of Ganguly’s message and furiously called him out on social media.
In his tweet on Gill, Ganguly had written: “What talent this country produces .. shubman gill .. wow .. two stunning knocks in two halves .. IPL.. .. what standards in the tournament @bcci”

After being subject to massive hatred, Ganguly has now come 🍒forward and lambasted the trolls for their misinterpretation. The former left-handed batter a⛄sked the trollers to consult someone responsible for understanding his tweet.
“Just a quick reminder .. hope those of you twisting this tweet ,understand English .. if don’t please get someone responsible to explain,” wrote Ganguly.

It is noteworthy that Ganuly was part of Delhi Capitals (DC) in﷽ the IPL 2023 as Director of Cricket of the franchise. His team did not haꦬve a great season and finished ninth on the points table.
Speaking of the match between GT and RCB, Gujarat won the game by six wickets. Meanwhile, Bangalore was knocked out of the tournament despite Virat’s ton. Gill was the star performer for the Ahmedabad-based franchise as he scored an unbeaten 104 of 52 deliveries in the run chase.
