On Monday, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium witnessed a remarkable performance by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Washington Sundar. Sundar took thr♒ee wickets in an over, putting the Delhi Capitals (DC) on the backfoot.
During the eighth over of the innings, DC skipper David Warner attempted an aerial shot over square leg, but Harry Brook managed to take a tricky catch, ending Warner’s stay in the middle.
Manish Pandey took a single on the next ball, giving Sarfaraz Khan the strike, but he too went for a big shot and was caught at mid-wicket by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Aman Khan replaced Sarfaraz Khan and scored a boundary on the first ball, but he threw his wicket on the next ball itself, charging down the ground to play a big shot but edging it in the air. Abhishek Sharma took the catch as Sundar got his third scalp.
Sundar finished his spell with impressive figures of 3/28 in four overs, restricting DC to a modest total of 144-9.

Earlier, DC skipper Warner won the toss and elected to bat first. The Delhi side made some changes in their playing XI, with Prithvi Shaw and Lalit Yadav missing out, while Sarfaraz and Ripal Patel got their chances. However, their efforts didn’t prove to be effective, as they couldn’t put up a competitive total, thanks to Sundar’s excellent spell.
