Devon Conway and Tom Latham led New Zealand’s strong reply after Pakistan’s 438 in their first innings on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test at National Stadium in Karachi.
Conway, who became the quickest New Zealand batter to 1000 Test runs (19 innings), and Latham formed a record highest 165-run opening partnership. Both Latham and Con🐭way displayed utmost patience as they kept Pakistan bowlers at bay. Wicketkeeper Latham stayed unbeaten on 78 while Conway remai🔯ned undefeated on 82.
Earlier, Pakistan lost centurion skipper Babar Azam in the first over of the morning, but Agha Salman shined with the bat to help the hosts reach a massive total. Salman smashed his maiden Test century as the home team posted 438 in their first innings. Black Caps skipper Tim Southee led New Zealand’s bowling with 3/69 from 25.5 overs. Similarly, the trio of spinners Ajaz Patel, Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi bagged six wickets between them.

Well played 👏.

I really hope Wasim Jr gets some reverse swing going as the ball gets older because he probably is our best bet to take wickets here otherwise we are in for some toil in Karachi. New Zealand would want to pile up runs and take Pakistan's win out of the equation.
