An all-round performance from Team India helped them defeat Zimbabwe in the second ODI t🌊o take the unassailable lead of 2-0 in the ongoing 3-match series.
Put to bat first, the hosts were bundled out for a mere 161 in 38.1 overs, thanks to disciplined bowling by India, especially Shardul Thakur. The right-armer dominated the prꦡoceedings and picked up a three-wicket haul for 38 runs in seven overs.
For Zimbabwe, former skipper Sean Williams and all-rounder Ryan Burl fought back to take their side𝕴 across the 150-run benchm💯ark. While Williams scored 42 runs with the help of four boundaries, Burl stayed unbeaten at 39 from 47 deliveries, including three fours and a six.
In response, the tourists gunned down the target in 25.4 overs with five wickets in hand. Captain KL Rahul, who came to open, failed to leave his impact, but Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill made notable contributions at the top.
The match-winning effort, however, came from Sanju Samson‘s willow, who went unbeaten on 43 off 39 balls with the help of seven boundaries, including 4 sixes. Samson was well supported by Deepak Hooda, who scored 25 off 36 and formed a crucial 56-run 𓆏sta📖nd for the fifth wicket.
