Australian superstar David Warner is widely known as one of the b﷽est fielders. His acrobatic skills, bullet throws and ability to turn the game on its head makes him one of the finest fielders in modern-day cricket.
Warner proved his brilliance once again when he took an absolute blinder to dismiss Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test at Galle International Stadium. Besides, Warner’s exceptional catch also proved his game awareness.
It all happened in the 30th over bowled by off-spinner Nathan Lyon. The tweaker delivered with the round the wicket angle, and Karunara🎐tne went forward to push it outside the line. The inside edge hits the pad and balloons towards the gully. While all the Australia players turned to appeal for a leg-before wicket, Warner, who was standing at first slip, divꦛed forward to take a phenomenal catch.

The series is being played for the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy named after the two iconic bowlers – Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan – in Test history with 1,508 combined wickets in the format. Notably, Warne passed 𝔉away in March, earlier this year, from a heart attack, and a brief remembrance was held for the Aussie great before the start of the match.
