The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was completed on Sunday after more than 1,00,000 fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad witnessed Gujarat Tita🗹ns ꧅(GT) defeating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) t✅o bag the coveted T2✨0 title in their debut season.
Like 𝔉every season, there were a numb✱er of individual performers for each side in both the batting and bowling departments, who excelled with their respective performances and proved their worth in their teams.
Let’s have a look at the top performers (batting and bowling) for each team in IPL 2022:
Gujarat Titans: Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami
For the IPL 2022 winners, captain Hardik Pandya and senior pacer Mohammed Shami were the leading performers. Hardik was their highest♈ run-getter this season with 487 runs in 15 matches, while Shami was their top wicket-taker with 20 scalps from 16 games.
Rajasthan Royals: Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal
Rajasthan Royals – the runners-up of IPL 2022 – grabbed both Orange Cap and Purple Cap awards. With 863 runs in 17 games, including four hundreds, Jos Buttler was the leading run-scorer of the fifteenth season. Similarly, Yuzvendra Chahal fin🐼ished as the highest wicket-taker, 🦩bagging 27 scalps in 17 matches with one 5-fer and 4-fer each.
Lucknow Super Giants: KL Rahul and Avesh Khan
Another debutant this year – Lucknow Super Giants – had a great season as they qualified in the playoffs and finished at the third spot in the points table. LSG skipper KL Rahul was their highest run-getter, with 616 runs in 15 matches at an average of 51.33. Likewise, pacer Avesh Khan was their le﷽ading wicket-taker, picking up 18꧑ scalps in 13 games.
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Faf du Plessis and Wanindu Hasaranga
In his debut season as captain, Faf du Plessis led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from the front, helping the side book a place in the playoffs and finishing as their leading run-scorer. The right-handed batter scored 468 runs in 16 matches. Regarding the bowling department, Wanindu Hasaranga led the charts, fin🥂ishing IPL 2022 as the second-highest wicket-taker with 26 scalps from 16 matches.
Delhi Capitals: David Warner and Kuldeep Yadav
For Delhi Capitals, David Warner led the charts in the batting department, scoring 432 runs from 12 matches at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 150.52. Similarly, Kuldeep Yadav shined ꧋with the ball for DC. The left-armer picked up 21 wickets in 14 game🃏s with the help of 2 4-wicket hauls.
Punjab Kings: Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada
Senior batter Shikhar Dhawan had a fruitful time with the bat this year for his new franchise Punjab Kings. The left-handed batter scored 460 runs in 14 games with the help of 47 fours and 12 sixes. Like Dhawan, speedster Kagiso Rabada also had a good run with the ball, taking 23 wickets from 13 matches and fin🌼ishing IPL 202🎶2 as the third-highest wicket-taker.
Kolkata Knight Riders: Shreyas Iyer and Andre Russell
Captain Shreyas Iyer shined with the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022, making 401 runs in 14 games, with 85 being his best score. All-rounder Andre Russell finished the season as his team’s leading wicket-taker, taking 17 scalps from 14 matches, including one 4-fer.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Abhishek Sharma and Umran Malik
Despite having a bad season as a team, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young stars – Abhishek Sharma and Umran Malik – have had a great time as individual performers. While Abhishek, with 426🀅 runs in 14 matches, was their leading run-getter, Umran, with 22 scalps in 14 games, finished IPL 2022 as the fou𝕴rth highest wicket-taker.
Chennai Super Kings: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Dwayne Bravo
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings couldn’t make it to the playoffs this season, but a few players did shine with their respective performances. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was their leading run-getter with 368 runs to his name in 14 games. Similarly, star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo picked up 16 wickets in 10 matches to be his side’s highest wicket-taker. Though Bravo’s tally of wickets tied with Mukesh Choudhary, who also bagged 16 scalps but the latter played three💯 more mat💛ches.
Mumbai Indians: Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah
The five-time winners Mumbai Indians have had a terrible season as they finished at the bottom in the points table. Despite the poor show, Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah came out as some positives. While Ishan, with 4ও18 runs in 14 games, was their lead🎃ing run-getter, senior pacer Bumrah picked up the most 15 wickets for his side.
