Chasing 158, the home team went off to an impressive start, with skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan forming a dominating opening stand of 64 runs. Rohit scored a quickfire 19-ball 40 with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes before Roston Chase dismissed him.

India lost Kishan (35), Virat Kohli (17), and Rishabh Pant (8) in quick successions before Suryakuamar Yadav (34 not out) and Venkatesh Iyer (24 not out) formed an unbe🧜aten partnership of 48 runs for the fifth wicket to take the hosts ove💫r the finish line.
