The ODI series between South Africa and India is just a few days away, but the tourists have already suffered two huge blows from the squad standpoint. All-rounder Washington Sundar didn’t board the flight to the Rainbow Nation as he was tested COVID-19 ahead of the tour. Whereas fast bowler Mohammed Siraj suffered an injury during the second Test, and is unlikely to regain full fitness before the first ODI. Jayant Yadav and Navdeep Saini have been added to the Indian squad as their replacements.
India lost the three-match Test series against South Africa 2-1. The visiting party won the series opener by 113 runs. But, the home team made a strong comeback in the next two games and won both matches by seven wickets. Now, the KL Rahul-led India and Temba Bavuma’s South Africa will fight for victory in the ODI series.
