The 2021 T20 World Cup will take place in India while Australia, who were to host the tournament this year in October-November, ꦅwill now host the 2022 edition of the ICC event.

India will also host the OꦚDI World Cup in 2023. In 2011, India co-hosted the tournament along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The decisions♉ we𝔍re taken by the International Business Corporation (IBC), the business development wing of the ICC, during a virtual conference on Friday.

In July, the ICC postponed the 2020 T20 World Cup due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The apex ꦑcricketing body had confirmed that the tournament will be played in 2021 and 2022 but did not name the hosts.

As per a report in PTI, the BCCI and Cricket Australia mutual🌞ly agreed to let India host the next ICC event. Both the 𝓀boards share a great rapport and Australia will be the first nation where Team India will play its first international series since March.

It will be after a long gap of five years that West Indies will defend 🦄their title, which they w🐠on at the Eden Gardens by defeating England in the final in 2016.

Earlier, ICC used to host the event after every two years but the board dec♛ided to stage two back-to-back tournaments in 2020 and 2021.

Along with this, the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup has also been postponed to 2022. The Women’s 50-over World Cup was scheduled to be held in New Zealand between February 6 and March 7, 2021. In the previous edition, England and India had played the final at Lord’s cricket ground and the hosts had come out victorious.

Meanwhile, no discussion was done regarding the final of the ongoing ICC World Tesܫt Championship in the meeting. As per the original schedule, the final of the tournament was to be played in June 2021.
