Mumbai Indian’s (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma turned out to be the most successful captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with four championship wins in seven seasons as captain. Under Rohit’s captaincy, the Mumbai-based franchise lifted the IPL Trophy in every alternate season since 2013.
After the IPL Governing Council (GC) announced that t🎉he 2020 season of IPL will commence from September 19, Rohit appeared to be elated to get back into the groove, post prolonged COVID-19 break.
Rohit conducted a ‘Q&A’ session where he was asked to pick one MI player from the past in his squad.
The Mumbai ace named not just one but two players he dearly wished to be included in MI squad. Rohit made the obvious choice of ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar along with former Proteas seamer Shaun Pollock.
“If I could bring one Mumbai player not one actually, there are two. One and only Sachin Tendulkar and Shaun Pollock,” Rohit responded to the query.
Q: If you could bring one retired MI player back, who would it be?
–A:
— Rohit Sharma (@ImRo45)
Tendulkar captained MI during the first few seasons of IPL with an arra🍌y of superstars in his team, including Pollock.
Two of the greatest cricketers of the by-gone era, Sachin and Pollock, have now reacted to Rohit’s plea for a comeback in the MI Paltan.
Indian cricket enthusiasts often wished to witness Sachin and Rohit open the innings together, which did not happen during their short stint together in 201🔯3 seಞason.
“Would be fun to open with you, @ImRo45,” Sachin replied.
Would be fun to open with you . 😊
— Sachin Tendulkar (@sachin_rt)
Pollock, on the other hand, had a typical cheeky reply for ‘Hitman’. “Will go to the nets and workout if it’s still possible,” the popular commentator wrote.
The veteran pacer featured only during the inaugural season of the IPL, where he picked 11 wickets in 13 matches. Since their retirement fཧrom the game, both Sachin and Pollock took up mentorship roles at the Ambani-owned franchise.
Wi🌜ll go to the nets and workout if it’s still possib💜le 😉

Go for it Polly. You'll do great.
