The popular Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is ready to begin as the franchises have selected their teams for the 2020 edition of the exciting tournament. The draft CPL 2020 was carried out remotely and the six participa🐽ting teams managed to fill their rosters with both the Caribbean and overseas players. Some famous names like Rashid Khan, Marcus Stoinis, Ross Taylor, and Carlos Brathwaite were picked up by the franchises.
However, one player who 🐻grabbed the maximum headlines was Indian leg-spinner Pravin Tambe. He is all set to become the first Indian player to play in CPL. Tambe has been roped in by Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) for USD 7,500 (INR 5.6 Lakh). TKR is co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan who also has an Indian Premier League (IPL) team; Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
TKR have also signed Australian leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed, New Zealand wicketkeeper Tim Seifert and Zi𒉰mbabwean batsman Sikandar R🅷aza.
The CPL is scheduled betw🎉een August 18 to S꧃eptember 10, 2020.
Tamb♏e is 48 years old, and he will become the oldest player to play in the tour🐲nament. In fact, when the former Mumbai spinner debuted in the IPL, he was 41 years old.
Talking about his IPL career, Tambe has played 33 games and picked up 28 wickets with an average of 30.5. Tambe has a💧lso played in the T10 league in UAE after announcing retirement from all forms of the game as the BCCI doesn’t allow its players to participate in internation▨al tournaments.
But after his stint in the UAE tournament, Tambe withdrew his retirement and pa🐭rticipated in the Mumbai T20 league. After that, he registered himself for the 2020 IPL auction in which KKR picked him for INR 20 lacs. However, later he was disqualified from playing in the lucrative league.
