In recent weeks, the Western part of Kolkata, Behala has seen a spike in the number of CO♓VID-19 cases.
Now, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s elder brother Snehashish Gang𓆉uly was tested for COVID-19, the state health department confirmed on Friday.
W𒁃ife of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Secretary Snehashish Ganguly, was also contracted with the disease last week. Even Snehashish’s mother-in-law and father-in-law were tested positive in the same week, a senior official affirmed.
Even their domestic help in Snehashish’s Mominpur home where he was residing recently was alsꦗo diagnosed as positive.
The entire household members are currently undergoing treatment at a priv💜ate nursing home and are deemed as stabled. However, the former Ranji cricketer has been found negative and w👍as advised home isolation.
“All the four complained of some health issues, which were similar to the symptoms of Covid-19 when they were staying at another 🌳residence and not at Gangu♐ly’s ancestral house in Behala. After testing positive, all the four were shifted to a private nursing home,” a senior official was quoted by Indian Express.
Further rounds of testing will be conducted on Saturday, and impending decisions on their line of tre꧙atment will be ﷽discussed henceforth.
“Whether they will be discharged or not, depends on the result of the ♒tests,” the medical personnel add🤪ed.
West Bengal, thus far, has 12,735 confirmed cases. Out of them, the total number of cases recover🦄ed stands at 7,001 and 5🅰18 deaths reported.
However, the Mam🌄ta Banerjee-led government has received criticism for low tesꩵting and unreported deaths.
The number of COVID-19 cases in India is about to touch 4-lakh mark, with almost 13,000 deaths till now. India is only behind the USA, Russia and Br🍌azil in the worldwide tally of COVID-19 cases.
