Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is considere𓆏d to be the besꦬt wicket-keeper in modern-day cricket. During the 2016 World T20, Dhoni had stumped Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman to change the complexion of the game as India won the knockout encounter by just one run.
In the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup both the teams met again. Dhoni once again got a chance to stump Sabbir, but this time Bangladesh batsman had learnt from his previous mistake and didn’t let the veteran stumper do the same to him in England.
“Dhoni had stumped me during the T20 World Cup in Bangalore. He had a stumping chance in last year’s World Cup in England as well.”
“This time, I slid back into the crease before him and told him, “Not today!” Sabbir said in a recent interview with Cricfrenzy.
Speaking more about Dhoni,💦 Sabbir claimed that he had also asked the 38-year-old about the mystery behind his bat.
“I asked him what the secret of his bat was. Why whatever he hits goes for sixes when we have to struggle to clear the fence. He had said it was all about confidence,” he said.
Dhoni also gave Sabbir his bat, but on one strict condition
Sabbir later asked MSD to give one of his bats to him. Dhoni promised to give his bat but only 🌱on one condition.
“Then I say to him give me one of your bats and I will try to play against you with that bat and he told me that not against us, you can play with another team but can’t play against me,” Sabbir concluded.
As the coronavirus outbreak has brought all cricketing events to a halt, players are practising social distancing and self-isolation durin𝓰g the pandemic.
