The Indian Premier League (IPL) was supposed to kick off from March 29 this year, but due to coronavirus spread, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to postpone the 13th ediꦜtion of the cash-rich league for an indefinite period.

In the meantime, different IPL franchises have started various tactics on social media in order to keep their fans engaged. Following the trend, Kolkata Knight Rider♐s (KKR) via its official Twitter handle shared a throwback post from their maiden IPL title win in 2012.

KKR were playing against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their own backyard, at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. KKR defeated CSK after the MS Dhoni-led side failed to defend 191 on a batting track. The ‘Yellow Army’ lost the contest in the last over by five wickets and the Gautam Gambhir-led team claimed their first-ever IPL title.

However, in an attempt to celebrate the maiden IPL victory, the franchise’s Twitter handle annoyed Manoj Tiwary by forgetting to tag Shakib al Hasan and him in the throwback post.

Manoj, who last played for India in 2015, felt terrible and displayed his anger on Twitter. He termed KKR’s behaviour as insulting. Manoj also added that this tweet would remain close to every KKR fan.

“Yes I, along with others have too many memories, emotions and that will remain forever but after seeing this tweet where u all forgot to mention n tag me and @Sah75official is insulting and this mrng tweet of urs will remain close to every knight Rider’s #disappointed,” tweeted Manoj.

However, after a few minutes, KKR’s official twitter handle dropped its response. It showed a screenshot in which both Shakib and Manoj were tagged.

“No way, Manoj. We would never miss tagging such a special ‘knight’ to our special night. You were, and always be a hero of that 2012 victory,” KKR responded.
