England’s World Cup-winning star Jos Buttler has auctioned his Three Lions shirt to battle against COVID-19 pandemic.
Buttler has said that the fund raised from the auction wꦇill be used in providing life-saving equipment to those who got affected during the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The English wicketkeeper-batsman took to social media to announce the campaign and tagged the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Steve Smith, AB de Villiers, Michael Vaughan, Kevin Pietersen, Faf du Plessis, Sur𝓰esh Raina, Ben Stokes, Shane Warne among others to spread the message.
Buttler said the England shirt that will be auctioned has been signed 🔴by all of his World Cup-winning team⛦mates.
“I am going to be auctioning my World Cup Final shirt to raise funds for the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity. Last week they launched an emergency appeal to provide lifesaving equipment to help those affected during the COVID-19 outbreak,” Buttler wrote.
In the video message, Buttler said: “Hello everyone, I hope you are all safe and well and staying at home. As we all know, hospitals, doctors, nurses and the NHS are all doing an incredible job at the moment and in the weeks and months to come they are going to need our support even more so.
“Last week, the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals charity launched an emergency appeal to provide lifesaving equipment for those two hospitals, specialising in lung and heart conditions in preparation for the COVID-19 outbreak. To help with their fundraising effort, I’m going to be donating my World Cup final shirt, signed by all the players who were members of that squad.”

Earlier, England Test captain Joe Root��, in an open letter addressed to the British public, stressed on the importance of teamwork as a society in 🦄their fight to defeat the coronavirus pandemic which has swept the world off its feet.
“Social distancing may mean that we can’t come together in a physical sense, but our strength lies in our communities coming together to help one another,” he said.
More than 25,000 confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported so faℱr in the UK while over 1,700 people have lost their lives.
