England all-rounder Moeen Ali is one of those very few cricketers who gained a reputation with his elegant batting and later developed as one of the most skillful off-spinners in the game. In fact, one wouldn’t be wrong to say that Moeen has filled the vacuum which was created by the departure of veteran spin bowler Graeme Swann.
In 64 Tests and 102 ODIs, Moeen has scored 2782 and 1783 runs. He has also taken 181 wick🐲ets in the red-ball format while 85 in ODIs. Just like the rest of cricketers, the Birmingham-🙈born is also spending time at his home due to the lockdown.
In the meantime, Moeen took some fans’ questions asked by the readers of The Guardian. A fan ask🅺ed the offie to name the hardest away tour and the toughest ground he has played at. Moeen answered the query and mentioned Australia as the hardest place to tour. When it comes t♚o the challenging ground, then the 32-year-old went with New Lands at Capetown in South Africa.
“Australia is for me, personally, the hardest place to tour. The wickets are so good for batting, which made bowling hard, and mentally it was quite challenging. In terms of the ground, Newlands in Cape Town is pretty tough to bowl on as a spinner,” wrote Moeen.
Moeen was thꦛen asked to pick the greatest all-rounder between Proteas legend Jacques Kallis and his teamma﷽te Ben Stokes.
The southpaw went with Kallis and said his stats are much better than Stokes, but he also hailed ‘Stokesy’ and claimed that if he continues to play like the way he is, then no doubt Stokes will become one of the greatest players.
“It’s a tough one. You’d probably have to go, Kallis, as it stands because his body of work is so much bigger: more runs, wickets, catches etc. But if Stokesy carries on like he is he will become one of the greatest players to ever play the game. No doubt,” Moeen added.
