West Bengal government honours Deepti Sharma for her outstanding performance in Women’s T20 World Cup

Indian women cricketer Deepti Sharma received recognition by the Bengal government for her brilliant performance in the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup held in Australia.

Deepti was felicitated by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Government of West Bengal, for her incredible show in the showpiece event🔥✃.

The all-rounder played a crucial role in India’s journey of reaching first ever finals in the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Deepti gave just 17 runs in the four overs in the tournament opener against Australia. Then in the match against Sri Lanka, she picked up one wicket and gave only 16 runs. 𒐪In the finals, Deepti finished with figures of 2/38 in her four overs with wickets of Meg Lanning and Ashleigh Gardner.

The Agra-born took to Twitter to express her feelings 🀅after she was honoured.

“Privileged to be felicitated by the Dept. of Youth Services and Sports, Govt. of WB. Thank you for this honour Mr. Laxmi Ratan Shukla (Ex- Cricketer, MoS – Youth Services & Sports), Mr. Arup Biswas(Public Works and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister) & Mr. Gurbux Singh (Hockey great),” tweeted Deepti.

Earlier, another woman cricketer, Shikha Pandey, was felicitat൩ed by Air Marshal MSG Menon, for her outstanding performance in the mega event.
