The whole world is suffering from deadly Covid-19. The World Health Organisation has declared it a pandemic. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, many events𒉰 and sports tournaments have either been cancelled or postꦕponed.

Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 202🍸0 season until April 15. After🌱 the meeting of BCCI and franchise owners, the board president Sourav Ganguly hinted at a shortened tournament but also said the BCCI would act according to the recommendations of the Government of India.

Now, India opener and deputy of Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma has reacted to the life-threatening disease by posting a video on social networking site Twitter. In a video, Rohit said it’s disheartening to see the world coming to a halt due to the outbreak of novel Coronavirus.

“I just wanted to talk about a few things. Last few weeks have been tough times for all of us. The world has come to a standstill, which is very, very sad to see. The only way we can get back to normal is by all of us coming together,” Rohit said in a video posted on his Twitter account.

“And we can do this by being a little smart, a little proactive, knowing our surroundings and as and when we get any symptoms, informing your nearest medical authorities because we all want our kids to go to the school, we want to go to the malls, and we all want to watch movies in the theatres,” added the Nagpur-born cricketer.

Rohit also appreciated the efforts put together by doctors and medical staff ar🐻ound the world.

“I appreciate the efforts of all the doctors and the medical staff across the world who have put their lives on risk while taking care of the people who have tested positive with Coronavirus,” Rohit added further.

“Last, but not the least, my heart goes out for people who have lost their lives and their families. Take care, be safe,” concluded the 32-year-old.

According to media reports, over 5,000 people have lost their lives worldwide. When it comes to India, the number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases has g🔯one up𓂃 to 110 as of March 16, according to the health ministry.
