Popular c﷽ricketing expressions such as gun fielding, bullet-arm throw, bull’s eye,𓆏 acrobatic efforts are now synonymous to India’s ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Very seldom does a matc🙈h go by without Jadeja raising a few eyebrows with his supreme athleticism on the field. Couple with his dynamism with both bat and ball, the Saurashtra superstar, offers a unique asset to the Indian team.
The second day of the Christchurch Test witnessed a trademark fielding prowess of Jadeja. A short-pitched delivery from Moha𒁏mmed Shami enticed Neil Wagner to play a hook shot.
Jadeja placed a few paces in front of the fine leg to cut-off doubles, zoomed across to his right to come in th💯e proximity of the ball.
However, the ball had a considerable amount of elevation relative to Jadeja’s position in the square. Jadeja fancied his chances and leaped for the ball, while ‘activating his flight mode,’ to complete a one-handed blinder to dismiss Wagner.
Even the batsman appeared surprised with Jadeja’s acrobatic efforts and took a moment to let his dismissal sink in. Twitꦆter went into a frenzy after witnessing yet another screamer from perhaps India’s best fielder. Many already have hailed it as the catch of the decade.
