India’s outgoing chief selector MSK Prasad is happy with the progress made by Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Shikhar Dhaꦕwan with regards to their respective injuries.
Prasad has been observing the fitness and 🦩overall readiness of the Indian tr💙io in the ongoing DY Patil T20 tournament in Mumbai.
“I am here to watch Shikhar Dhawan playing in the DY Patil tournament. I am here, especially to watch Dhawan, Bhuvi, and Hardik. I am happy with the way they are progressing,” Prasad told ANI with the team selection date for the home series against South Africa approaching near.
Pandya is recovering from a back injury for which he had to go through surgery in London late last year. Bhuvi is also under the rehabilitation process at the NCA after sustaining a groin injury d♏uring the home series against West Indies.
Dhawan, on the other hand, injured his left shoulder while playing against🃏 Australia earlier in January and was subsequently ruleꦏd out of the recently-concluded New Zealand tour.
Prasad further came out in defence ෴of India captain Virat Kohli, who endured a rare failure with the bat in New Zealand, averaging just 9.5 in the two-match Test series.
“We are talking about a legend who has been a run-machine for many years,” MSK said. “He is also a human, and he can have one odd series where he doesn’t perform. One series should not go against him, and he has been a phenomenal player.”
