Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell recently made headlines when his engagement news broke out on social media.
Maxwell was dating an Indian origin Australian woman Vini Raman from quite so🔯me time. The attacking batsman disclosed the news on Instagram a few weeks ago, c﷽onfirming that the two got engaged.

Maxwell, who hasn’t played international cricket since October last year, revealed some interesting details about his proposal which turned out to be a ‘nightmare’.

Cricket Australia, on Monday, uploaded a video of Maxi’s proposal story on Twitter. In the video, Maxwell said that he ended up proposing Vini in a public park near Port Melbourne surrounded by school children and people, as his first plan to propose to his girlfriend at a beach got ruined.

“There were kids everywhere. This is a nightmare. It’s just going so badly. She drove past as I was trying to put the ring back in the box, ” said Maxwell.

Maxwell added that he was hiding behind🌺 a tree and people were just walking around.

“She didn’t see me as I was ducking back into the car to get ready, and shut the door and run back into the middle of the park. I hid behind a tree, would have looked like a real creep in a park. There were all these people around, and I thought as long as everyone moves away from the centre of the park, I should be fine. ”

The Aussie player further added that as he t🥂urned around, he saw Vini walking in the wrong direction. Maxwell revealed that he was annoyed because he had pinpointed on Google Maps exactly where he wanted her to meet him.

“There were still kids around and people walking their dogs, and as I turned around, I saw Vini start to walk the wrong direction. I feel like I pinpointed on Google Maps exactly where I wanted her to meet me, so I was a bit annoyed and then told her to come back the other way. ”

Then Maxwell tried to point Vini away so that 🦹he could propose her. He told Vini that there might be a cafe. As soon as she looked the other way, Maxwell got on his knees, but in the meantime, Vini mistakenly pushed the call button on her phone and ended up calling him.

“I sort of pointed her away by saying there might be a cafe over there, and she sort of turned away and I got straight down on one knee. But as I got down, she still had her phone in her hand, and she must have panicked and pushed a button because she started calling me. ”

“So, my phone is vibrating in my pocket like mad. And I’m sitting there with a ring in my hand shaking anyway. And she started crying, and I was like, I’m not taking this phone call. What is going on here?”

Maxwell said that in the end, it was good that she called as it ♍turned out to be a good memory.

“So, she ended up leaving a seven-minute voice mail, and it was the entire engagement chat. I’ve still got that on my phone. So that’s pretty cool that we’ve still got that engagement memory.”
