Indian captain Virat Kohli will be looking forward to the upcoming second Test against New Zealand at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Kohli hasn’t looked in supreme touch against the Kiwis across formats. After the average limited-over series, he was dismissed for 2 and 19 in the first Test at Wellington, which his side lost by 10-wickets.

The Black Caps seems to have found the trick to stop the Indian skipper from scoring the mountain of runs, and now, ahead of the Christchurch Test, New Zealand batsman Tom Lath꧑am revealed how the host team would tackle Kohli.

“When Virat comes out to bat, we will be ready. He is a quality player, and there is a reason why he is up around that No 1 rank for such a period of time,” Latham said at the pre-match press conference on Thursday.

On Neil Wagner’s return, Latham said that the left-arm pacer will be excited to join the squad, and his presence would boost our bowling attack.

“I haven’t yet seen him, but when he rocks up for training, he will be absolutely fizzing up to get going, and obviously, he will be raring to go. He has been a quality performer for a number of years for us,” added Latham.

Latham further said that the conditions at Hagley Oval would provide an advantage to the kind of bowling Wagner has; therefore, he will be difficult to pla🎉y.

“It’s something that Neil has obviously been so good at for so long, and he is second to none in terms of accuracy. He is a short guy, and that makes him harder to play. If the surface is up for that plan, he will be looking to go round with that,” Latham added further.
