England’s wicketkeeper Jos Buttler could land in trouble after being caught using foul language against Vernon Philander on the stump mic during Day 5 of the Cape Town Test.
The incident happened after Philander drove a ball towards mid-off to Joe Root. The England skipper threw the ball back to Buttler, but Philander remained unmoved and got in Buttler’s way as he was unable to collect the ball.
Soon after, the microphone attached to stumps picked Buttler saying ‘F***ing k***head’ to Philander. The veteran bowler starred back, but he didn’t say anything.

South Africa pacer Dale Steyn reacted 𒉰to the incident on Twitter.

Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle also reacted to the cuss words used by Buttler and wrote, “What a pity.”

Meanwhile, Kevin Pietersen has come out in defense of Buttler. The former Engওland cricketer asked people to leave the English 🉐wicketkeeper alone.
“LOTS having a go at @josbuttler here! LEAVE HIM ALONE! This is Test Cricket, and believe me, this is nothing compared to lots that goes on, on the field. Series is alive big time! END OF!,” tweeted Pietersen.

However, Sky Sports’ commentator Michael Atherton did apologize seconds after the incident.
In the match, England defeated South Africa by 189 runs and leveled the four-Test series 1-1.
