The 13th season o✤f the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set ♍to begin on March 29, and the tournament final will be played in Mumbai on May 24.
The IPL will have concussion substitutes from this season, Sourav Ganguly revealed on the sidelines of the league’s governing council meeting held in New Delhi on Monday.
“The concussion substitute and the no-ball rule are new additions for the season,” Ganguly told the reporters.
Under the new ICC rule, a player who has been concussed either while batting, bowling or on the field, can be withdrawn fro♍m the game and be replaced subject to approval by the match referee.
The BCCI President also added t🍸hat there woul꧂d be an All-Stars game between top international players before the start of IPL for a charitable cause.
In the meeting, it was further decided that there will be no change in the timings of the matches. ℱOn🅠ly five games will have a 4 pm start, while the rest of the games will continue to have a start time of 8 pm.
“There will be no change in the timing of IPL night games. It will start from 8 pm like earlier years. There was discussion about 7:30 pm, but it’s not happening,” added Ganguly.
“We will have only five doubleheaders (4 pm and 8 pm) this time. IPL final will be held in Mumbai.”
