SA vs ENG: ICC ban Kagiso Rabada for one-Test following his celebration of Joe Root’s dismissal

South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been banned for the fourth and final Test against England following his animated celebration of Joe Root’s dismissal on Day 1 of the third Test.

The pacer screamed next to the English skipper after knocking him over for 27 at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth.

The International Crickജet Council (ICC) on Friday 𒊎gave Rabada one demerit point, which means he now has a total of four in two years. That triggers a one-Test ban.

The ICC found guilty of “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his or her dismissal during an international match.”

Two of Rabada’s previous demerit points came in the 2018 Test series against the Aussies, which culminated in the Australia ball-tampering scandal.

The third reꦜsulted from his celebration of dismissing Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan earlier the same year.

This is the second time that R🉐abada has been banned fro🌠m an accumulation of demerit points.

The first one was on South Africa’s tour of England in 2017 when he missed the second Test at Trent Bridge.
