On Friday, Australia’s middle-order batsman, Travis Head, shimmered at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) by scoring a magnificent ton that put the hosts in an enviable position. Head started the proceedings on Day 2 of the second Test, along with Steve Smith.
Smith, who was unbeaten at 77 after the end of play on Day 1, couldn’t hold his innings for long and got out after scoring 85 runs. Head, however, continued his journey and made a solid partnership with the Aussie skipper Tim Paine. The duo added 152 runs and took the momentum ꦦaway from New Zealand.
In the 150th over of Australia’s first innings, Head drove the wide delivery bowled by Tim Southee to reach his Test career’s second century. However, the 25-year-old could only add 14 more runs to his score as Neil Wagner got him at 114. The Kiwi bowler, though, showed the spirit of the game as he tapped Head’s back and congratulated him for his incredible knock.
You love to see it 🤝
