T20 crꦜicket is often conꦿsidered as a format for young legs, but 48-year-old Pravin Tambe has proven that age is just a number, nothing else.
On Thursday, when Indian Premier League (IPL)🎀 auction was going on in a full-swing, a moment came when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought Tambe at his base price of 20 Lakhs.
The leg-spinner has been a part of IPL since 2013. He has played for three teams so far – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RRꦦ), and Gu✤jrat Lions (GL).
In the 33 games of the lucrative league, Tambe has g🍃rabbed 28 wickets with a hat-trick in 2014 against KKR.
Pravin Tambe thanks KKR after IPL 2020 auction
Tambe in a recent interview said that he is still a 20-year-old in his mind. He is happy to be a part of KKR and is excited to share his experience with the players and will ꦏtry to perform to the best of his abilities.
“I am still a 20-year-old in my mind. People say many things but I keep doing my job and put in a lot of hard work. I will like to do well in whatever role given to me, be it in fielding or bowling. It’s not to prove anything. If that was the case, I could not have played for this long. I’m really excited to play for them,” Tambe said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Tambe, who is now the oldest player to be auctioned in the IPL history, said that he’s grateful to the Kolkata franchise and wants to give them back with his performance.
“KKR must have seen something in me to have bought me. I’m grateful to KKR team management. I want to give them back. If you get the support, you can go a long way,” added Tambe.
On his famous hat-trick against the team which has bought him (KKR), Tambe said he want🍌s to repౠeat a similar performance for the team.
“I distinctly remember the moment. I’m really proud to be playing for the same team now. It was a match-winning show and my dream now would be to give a similar match-winning performance for KKR,” Tambe added further.
