During the ninth game of the ongoing second edition of the Mzansi Super League (MSL) between Durban Heat and Cape Town Blitz in Durban, the Blitz skipper Quinton de Kock imitated India veteran MS Dhoni to dismiss the Heat’s all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo.
It happened on the last ball of the 18th over when Phehlukwayo hit a Sisanda Migala delivery towards Marques Ackerman at long-off. Though Ackerman couldn’t hold on to a tough catching opportunity, he was quick to get back on his feet and throw the ball at the striker’s end.
As Heat needed 28 runs to win off just 13 balls, the batsmen thought of taking a couple of runs. In the process, Phehlukwayo, who was running back to his crease, was undone by de Kock’s street-smart keeping skills.
Like Dhoni, De Kock al🌌so deflected the ball on to the stumps, bamboozling th𒊎e batsman and finally running him out.
Coming in to bat at number 5 in the 17th over, Phehl𝄹ukwayo ended upꦉ scoring 5 (4) as the hosts lost the match by 10 runs after scoring 164/7 in their stipulated 20 overs.
