After their loss against New Zealand in World Cup semi-final, the Indian cricket team is set to be back in action starting 3rd August. India’s one month tour of West Indies will feature 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 2 Test matches.
Head coach Ravi Shastri’s contract will come to an end upon the completion of the tour. BCCI granted a 45 days extension to Shastri along with batting coach Sanjay Bangar and bowling coach Bharat Arun to finish the West Indies tour.
BCCI has also decided to request fresh applications for the Indian team’s support staff. According to this, Shastri, Bangar, and Bharat will have to re-apply to be considered for respective positions.
It would be tough for Shastri to present his case as the Indian team never won any major ICC tournam༒ent under him.
As per PTI, “The job openings will be put up on our website in a day or two. Besides the support staff, fresh applications will also be invited for the post of team manager“, a BCCI official informed.
Indian team’s physio Patrick Farhart and trainer Shankar Basu have already ended their contract with BCCI.
Whilst my last day with the team did not turn out as I wanted it to, I would like to thank for the opportunity to work with the team for the last 4 years. M🐻y best wishes to all of the players and support staff for the future
