Riding on a splendid hundred by Jonny Bairstow – his second of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 – and a fine performance by the bowling unit, England hammered New Zealand by 119 runs at Chester-le-Street and 🧜stormed into the semi-finals of the 10-nation tournament.
England scored 305 for 8 and꧂ then bowled out New Zealand for 186 in 45 overs.
They are now the third team𝔍 to qualify for the sem🍃i-finals after India and Australia.
Earlier, wicket-keeper Jos Buttler took a sensational catch down the leg-side to send Martin Guptill packing as New Zealand lost their dangerous opener for just 8. Jofra Archer bowled it in short into Guptill’s midriff, who ended up glowing it down the leg and was going wide of Buttler.
The English keeper swift🐼ly moved to his left before sticking his left glove out to co💧mplete the catch.
