ICC World Cup 2019: David Warner’s wife Candice congratulates her husband after his masterclass against Bangladesh

Australia’s opening batsman David Warner was back to his old self, scoring a 147-ball 166 against Bangladesh in a World Cup game at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Thursday.

This was Warner’s second century in the ongoing edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup and third in the history of the tournament. His 166 against Bangladesh is also his second highest score in the World Cup and fourth highest overall.

In the process, he also equalled India skipper Virat Kohli’s record. Warner has now become the second batsman to hit 16 ODI tons in 110 innings. Hashim Amla, who scored his 16th ODI century in 94 innings, holds the record for fewest innings to this feat.

In Thursday’s match, Warner started cautiously against the Bangladeshi bowlers but picked up his usual pace soon. He reached his first two fifties of 55 balls each while his second third fifty took only 29 balls. Warner smashed 14 fours and 5 sixes en route his 166.

His first century came against Pakistan in Tauntonꦚ on June 1♛2.

Wishes came pouring in for Warner as he reached the three-figure mark. Candice Falzon, David’s wife, also congratulated her husband on his second ton in the World Cup 2019.

“Congratulations on another World Cup century. Your girls love you @davidwarner31 and are so proud. #166,” she wrote in her post.

The defending champions, Australia, have moved closer to the semi-finals after David Warner inspired his side to a comfortable 48-run win over a combative Bangladesh with t🎉he highes🅘t individual score of the tournament.
