Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is with Kolkata Knight Riders franchis🐓e. Starc was bought for INR 9.4 crores ($1.8 million) during the auction but missed the entire 2018 season 𝔍due to injury during the tour of South Africa.
Later, Kolkata Knight Riders franchise announced England’s fast bowler Tom Curran as his replacement.
Starc also didn’t feature in this year’s IPL as the KKR franchise released him i⛎n Nov 2018 via a text message. During an interview last year, Starc said, “At the moment for me, I just want to play as much Test cricket and one-day cricket for Australia as I can. IPL is a lovely bonus on the pay packet but if I miss that to play more Test matches then I’m taking that option”.
As per reports, the pacer purchased an insurance policy of $1.53 million in c🐈ase he fails to appear in IPL 2018 due to an injury.
Starc is now suing a syndicate of insurance market Lloyd’s of London as he paid a premium of $97,920 to be covered for complete IPL 2018 season. There are some conflicts regarding the exclusions of previous injuries in the insurance contract.
The speedster is looking forward for the ICC World Cup in England and Wales, and 🧸the Ashes in 2019, but currently recovering from another injury he suffered during the test series against Sri Lanka in Feꦜbruary.
