Captain Virat Kohli blasted the umpires for failing to call 𝕴a no ball on the last delivery 🍬as his side Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost the IPL 2019 game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) by just six runs.
With RCB needing seven runs to win and six to force a Super Over, Lasith Malinga sent dow𒆙n a full toss to Shivam Dube, which proved to be the final ball of the match.
Replays later showed the🃏 Sri Lankan paceman had overstepped at M. Chinnaswamy Sta♛dium.
Before Kohli could give his post-match interview big screens in🌳 the stadium were already showing that Malinga had over-stepped the mark.
It would have given RCB one more ball – a free hit – to try and hit the maximum that would have tied the game, with AB De Villiers, 70 not out, on strike.
Kohli was visibly furious after the game and did not hold back in his condemnation of the no call. “We are playing at the IPL level and not playing club cricket. The umpires should have had their eyes open. That is a ridiculous call at the last ball. If it is a game of margins, I don’t know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there,” said the RCB skipper.
